About Us
We are David and Cherie Rust, the owners of The Cupcake Ladies and Kentucky Rust Dust Seasonings. Cherie has been owner of The Cupcake Ladies since 2012 and David joined in 2021 by operating the mobile bakery trailer and creating the Kentucky Rust Dust Seasoning Line.
Currently, you can purchase our items from our bakery trailer that has regular schedules in Hopkinsville/Cadiz, Madisonville/Greenville, Nortonville, and Crofton.
Due to the demand for weddings, we have paused our weekly delivery except for custom orders. In it's place, we now offer scheduled pickups at our bakery Tuesday - Saturday allowing more access for our customers to get our products when they need them.
Our Story
In the summer of 2012, Cherie Rust and her three daughters Callie, Abby, and Hattie embarked on what they thought would only be a summer homeschool project of baking cupcakes for friend's and family's birthdays and other events to learn basic business concepts. This "project" quickly grew and has expanded to include cakes, cookies, and a variety of breads which have allowed them to also incorporate fresh fruits grown right outside their bakery. The mission soon changed and not only did they learn about business but also about the beauty of creating something that can bring great joy by helping others make life a little sweeter.
Fast forward to 2023, all 3 daughters are now married, leading their own life journeys, starting their own businesses, growing their own families, and only work part time in the bakery. Thankfully, we had an awesome young lady who stepped in to help fill the gap and has been a wonderful addition to our team.
Cancellations and Refunds
Sometimes things don't go as planned and you might need to cancel your order. We request cancellations be made at least 48 hours prior to delivery. If the order has been prepaid, there will be a 10% cancellation fee that will be deducted from the refund to cover our service fees or a store credit can be issued.
